| Kirkgate Market, Leeds |
Client: Leeds City Council
Appointed by Leeds City Council in 1994, the team handled the refurbishment
of the £8 million project at Leeds Market. This project involved
the complete refurbishment of one of Britain’s most magnificent
Edwardian indoor markets, and the largest indoor market in Europe.
Work included structure and services as well as circulation and sightlines,
with individual stall designs decided upon in consultation with each
individual trader. As a result of the restoration, the building was
upgraded from a Grade II to a Grade I listed building. The refurbished
project was re-opened to the public by HRH Prince Philip, Duke of
Edinburgh. |
